Mahanama Sutta and Anathapindikovada Sutta

This week, I have selected two suttas – Mahanama Sutta (SN 55.21) and Anathapindikovada Sutta (MN 143) – that pertain to the fear of death and dying. Hopefully, these two suttas will serve as a starting point for further discussion on this often taboo subject.

Sakkapanha Sutta

This Friday, we will resume our sutta discussion with DN 21 (Sakkapanha Sutta). This is a very long and interesting sutta where Sakka Devaraja, the king of the 33 in the heavenly realm, asked the Buddha a series of questions that are very useful for dhamma practitioners.
